Brooks Automation provides complete factory and tool automation solutions and services for advanced manufacturing systems and demanding environments in the semiconductor, magnetic media, and flat panel display industries worldwide. Well known for its wafer handling equipment, Brooks is also active in cryogenic and vacuum systems. There will be short presentation with an overview of Brooks' products and technology followed by a tour of the engineering lab, reliability lab and the new product introduction facilities.

MEETING INFORMATION AND DIRECTIONS

 

The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society will meet at Brooks Automation Inc., 16 Elizabeth Drive, Chelmsford, MA 01824, http://www.brooks.com/, on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, for an informal discussion at 6:00 PM, the presentation at 6:15 and a tour of Brooks facilities at 6:30.

 

Directions to Brooks Automation: From I-95, take Exit 32A and merge onto Route 3 North. After 9.7 miles, take Exit 29 for Route 129 West. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Billerica Rd. At the second set of lights, turn left onto Mill Road. Take the immediate right onto Elizabeth Drive. The Brooks Automation campus consists of four buildings at the end of the road (11, 12, 15 and 16 Elizabeth Drive). Proceed to the building at the top of the hill on the left (16 Elizabeth Drive).

 

After the meeting, at approx. 8:00 PM, the group will have a no-host dinner at Bertucci's Restaurant, 14 Littleton Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824, tel. (978) 250-8800, where more conversations can take place with the guest speakers. Driving directions from Brooks Automation to Bertucci's: Backtrack the previous route towards Mill Road, turn left onto Mill Road. After 350 ft turn left onto Billerica Road. After 2.1 miles continue straight on Littleton Rd. (Rte. 110). After 350 ft you will see the restaurant.
